Emma Lavon Schilling, age 82, resident of Presbyterian Village, Fort Scott, died Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Pittsburg, Kan. She was born April 10, 1924, in Arcadia, Kan., the daughter of John Dallas Davidson and Ester Ellen Maxwell Davidson. She married Orville Schilling on Jan, 1, 1943, in Clarksville, Tenn. She worked at Key Work Clothes for many years and also enjoyed quilting. She loved watching sports on television and especially enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports. She was a member of Community Christian Church.

Emma is survived by her husband Orville, Presbyterian Village; son Dale Schilling and wife Donna, Fort Scott; daughter Carole Yoos and husband Bill, Bronaugh, Mo.; grandchildren Travis Schilling and wife Tina, Fort Scott, Fred Stoughton and wife Diana, Fort Scott; stepgrandchildren Brenda Larson, Deerfield, Mo., Dr. William Yoos and wife Rose, Centerton, Kan., Steve Yoos, Costa Mesa, Calif., Kenneth Yoos, Liberal, Mo., and Kim Schneider and husband Stan, Gentry, Ark.; great-grandchildren Taylor and Tabitha Schilling and Mac, Mitch, and Morgan Stoughton; stepgreat-grandchildren Tasha Larson, Erica, Katrina, and Kayla Yoos, Lindsay and Scott Cronister, Kaitlyn Yoos, and Dustin, Amanda, and Emily Staples; and stepgreat-grandchildren Madison Larson and Hope Marie Cronister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine siblings and nine nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Emma Schilling will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 5, 2007, at the Cheney Witt Chapel, with Rev. Kevin Moyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.

The family will receive friends for visitation Monday morning at 10 a.m., until service time.
