Lewis Bourassa Adams, 95, Nevada, Mo., died on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at Aberdeen Village Presbyterian Manor in Olathe, Kan. Lewis was born July 21, 1911, in the rural Liberal, Mo., area to Timothy K. Adams and Flora Dot Ziegler Adams. Lewis married Marie Juanita Hope on March 20, 1935, and they continued a happy life together until Marie's death in 2004, after almost 70 years of marriage.

Mr. Adams grew up near the Bronaugh, Mo., area and graduated from Bronaugh High School. He drove a school bus and farmed for years. He was also employed by Garton Equipment Company in Nevada, as a mechanic for about 30 years, where he was known as "Louie." He attended Pine Street Baptist Church in Nevada and was very involved in the church. He was a member of the Potawatomi Nation. He enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Adams is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Bigler and her husband, Bob, Raytown, Mo.; three sons, Charles Adams, Fontana, Calif., Leonard Adams and his wife, Pat, Blue Springs, Mo., and Jackie Adams and his wife, Susan, Olathe, Kan; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Frank Adams, Liberal.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 8, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Worsley Cemetery, Bronaugh. Friends may call from now and until the time of service at Ferry Funeral Home and the family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday between 9:30-10:30 a.m.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to Pine Street Baptist Church in care of the funeral home.
