Patricia "Sue" Faros

Patricia "Sue" Faros age 77, passed away on Nov. 14, 2007 at St Luke's Hospital.

Sue was born July 17, 1930, to Francis D. and Emma B. Woodfill in Nevada, where she lived her entire childhood. She was married Feb. 1, 1951, to George C. Faros, also of Nevada. The couple had two children; D. Christopher Faros and S. Cathleen Faros.

Sue was employed by the Missouri State Department of Education for 31 years, serving both as a classroom teacher and Principal of Lakeview Woods State School. After her retirement in July 1990, she and her husband volunteered at Truman Medical Center Lakewood for 11 years. Together, they managed the gift shop, each earning more than 7,000 volunteer hours.

She was a life member of the Truman Medical Center Lakewood Auxiliary and a member of Raymore Christian Church. In 1996, they moved to the Morningview Community in Raymore, Mo., where she enjoyed her many friends and neighbors. She loved to cook, read, knit and spoil her great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George, and her son, Chris. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Faros of Arcadia, Kan.; five grandchildren, Teresa Stewart and Mike, Oak Grove, Mo., Brian Faros and Monique, Leawood, Kan., David Eaton and Charity, Oak Grove, Jill Fawcett and Justin, Dallas, Texas, Angie Faros, Dallas; and 7 great-grandchildren, Clynton and Brayson Stewart, Carson Faros, Adelaide, Audrie, Andrea Eaton, and Ashlyn Fawcett.

Gifts may be made to the Chris Faros Scholarship Fund at Missouri Western College in St. Joseph, Mo., in lieu of flowers.

Visitation services will be held at noon, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at D.W. Newcomers Longview Chapel, 12700 S. Raytown Rd. Kansas City, Mo., with services beginning at 1 p.m., at the chapel.
