Myrtle Alice Beaman

Myrtle Alice Beaman, age 78, the daughter of Samuel B. and Sylvia M. (Clibon) Franklin, was born April 15, 1929, in Elbert, Colo., and passed from this life on Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at the Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada. Myrtle's early years were spent in Colorado where she was one of the graduates of Calhan's Class of 1947. Shortly after graduation, Myrtle was united in marriage to James W. Beaman on June 1, 1947, at her parents' home in Yoder, Colo. To this union five children were born.

The couple spent their first yews of marriage in Colorado, then in February 1955, realized their dream to move to Missouri, settling on a farm near Schell City. Myrtle was a homemaker through her life and always helped Jim on the farm. She also upholstered furniture and restored upholstery in cars for many years Throughout her life, Myrtle enjoyed gardening, canning, and was an accomplished painter. She was a longtime member of the Schell City Christian Church where she worked many years with Vacation Bible School and for a time served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a past member of the Schell City, Lefler Extension Club, and for many years worked on the local Election Board.

Survivors include her five children, Barbara Mills and her husband Stephen of Kansas City, Mo., Martha Owens and her husband Ken, of Branson, Mo., William and his wife Denise, of Belton, Mo., Donna Tabor and her husband Greg, of Nevada, and Glenn Beaman and his wife Gerdi, also of Nevada; one brother, Benjamin Franklin, of Valley, Neb.; 16 grandchildren, Stacey Miles and husband Damon; Brenda Rushing and husband Marc; Jim Mills and wife Amanda, Keith Owens, Janell Alabmad and husband Abe, Karen McQueary and husband John; Joshua Beaman and wife Charlene, Amelia Wigton and husband John, Jacob Beaman, Rechelle, Renee, and Brandon Tabor, Jameson and Mary Barnes, Shawn and Benjamin Beaman; eight great-grandchildren, Abby and Colton Rushing, Christopher Miles, Zane and Gage Wigton, DeAngello Vincent, and Rechelle, Maya, and Brandon Moreno; cousins, nieces, nehews, other relatives and many friends.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, one granddaughter, Jacquline Moreno-Barnes; one great-granddaughter, Avery Wigton; and her beloved husband James W. Beaman who passed away Oct. 5, 2007.

Funeral services for Myrtle Alice Beaman are at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at the Schell City Christian Church in Schell City, with Bro. Monte Shoemake officiating. A family eulogy is offered by her daughters. Musical selections are provided by Winkie Smith, Diane Eslinger, and Madalyn Crocker. Pallbearers are Keith Owens, Benjamin Beaman, Joshua Beaman, Jacob Beaman, Jim Mills, and Brandon Tabor. Alternate pallbearers are Jameson Barnes, Gavin Crocker, and Tony Crocker. Interment is in the Green Lawn Cemetery, in Schell City.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell City. The funeral arrangements for Myrtle Alice Beaman are entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, in Schell City.
