Marie Rosebaugh, age 86, of Moran, Kan., passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the Moran Manor. Marie was born July 28, 1921, the daughter of John William and Maye King Lantz, at Bedford, Iowa.

Marie grew up in the LaHarpe and Iola area, graduating from Iola High School. She lived most of her life in the Iola and Moran area. On Dec. 23, 1940, Marie married Archie Rosebaugh at Iola, Kan. This union was blessed with two children. Marie's lifelong endeavor was being a homemaker. In addition to this, she was an Avon representative before working as a clerk at the grocery store in Moran for many years. She was a member of the Moran United Methodist Church and a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving as secretary and treasurer for many years. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her husband June 9, 2005; her parents; one brother, Raymond Lantz; and one sister, Edith Baker.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Helen Alumbaugh, and her husband, Paul, of Moran; her son, Bill Rosebaugh, and his wife, Theresa, of Monett, Mo.; a sister, Verla Boyd, and her husband, Paul, of Moran; eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Moran United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Moran Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 1-2 p.m., on Tuesday at the church. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home from noon-5 p.m., Sunday and 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
