Alberta Louise Evans, 87, Nevada, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2008, at Christian Health Care in Nevada following a short illness. She was born June 3, 1920, in Kansas City, to Oscar A. Felch and Loretta Adell LaFountain Felch. She married Jesse L. Evans, on July 9, 1938, in Kansas City, Kan. He preceded her in death on Aug. 13, 2005.

Alberta was born and reared in Kansas City. She graduated from East High School in Kansas City. She and her husband came to Vernon County in 1954 from Kansas City. Alberta worked as a cook at El Dorado Springs School District and later at Cottey College until her retirement.

Survivors include one daughter, Diane L. Hopkins, Hume; one son, Dan Evans and his wife Laura, Springfield; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-granddaughters; four step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse; her parents; two sisters, Pearl Trasher, and Norma Felch, and one son-in-law, Walt Hopkins.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Friends may call now and until 1 p.m., today at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
