Roma Mae Willard, age 66 of Fort Scott, Kan., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Feb. 28, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin. Roma was born March 28, 1941, in Mapleton, Kan. to Izear (Zeb) Harris and Dorothy Jane Vann-Ellsworth. She married Thomas Willard on Nov. 16, 1962, in Fort Scott. Roma worked as a Nurse's Aide for Mercy Hospital and also did babysitting in her home. She was a member of Mount Olive Church of God in Christ, where she enjoyed attending services, served on the Home Foreign Mission and taught Sunday School. She also enjoyed watching and listening to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. Roma was in dialysis treatment for 13 years and became very close to those who were going through treatment with her. She was an encourager and wanted people to know the Lord. She also loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas, of the home; two sons, Douglas Cheney-Willard (Eleanor), Greenville, N.C., and Sahaun Timogen Willard, Fort Scott; daughter La Shawn Fitzhugh-Miller, Fort Scott; three grandchildren, Cannon and Quinn Willard, and Cire~ Miller; two sisters, Carolyn Vann (Russell) and Eleanor Harris, both of Fort Scott; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Elder John T. Owens and Elder Pete Pulliam will conduct funeral service for Roma Willard at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, at the Mount Olive Church of God in Christ. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 9:30 a.m., until service time Tuesday morning at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mount Olive Church of God in Christ or to a Roma Willard Memorial Fund and may be left in care of Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, KS, 66701.
