Wanda Maxine Root, 78, of Marshall, Mo., died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 6, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with the Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church. Born Feb. 24, 1930, in Waverly, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Roy W. Goldsby and Georgia Ruth Albin Goldsby. She was a graduate of Missouri Baptist Nursing School, in St. Louis, and was a registered nurse having worked in several hospitals the last one being Keller Memorial Hospital. in Fayette. She had lived in Marshall since 1994 moving from Fayette, Mo., and was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Marshall.

Survivors include one sister, Darlene E. Fisher of Nevada; an uncle, Orin A. Albin Jr., of Huntsville, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, George W. Fisher, and one great-niece, Kendall Brown.
