Jim Allen Bastow

Jim Allen Bastow, 60, Nevada, passed away on April 30, 22008, at his home in Nevada. He was born April 16, 1948, in Nevada, to Roderick Franklin Bastow and Ida Fay Robinson Bastow.

Jim was a graduated of Nevada High School in 1966, and a lifelong resident of Nevada. He was a member of the Sylvandale Baptist Church. Jim worked for several years at Community Lumber Company in Nevada and later for 3M Company for nearly 27 years until his retirement. He was a member of the YMCA and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include one son, Rodney Bastow and his wife Leona, of Nevada; one daughter, Jamie Bastow, of Nevada; one brother, Jack Bastow and his wife Shirley Ann, of Nevada; one sister, Judy Humphrey and her husband Melvin, of Nevada; two nephews, Steve Bastow, of Nevada, and Mark Humphery, of Nevada; and Rowann Bastow, of Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, May 3, with John Nichols officiating, at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., on Friday at the funeral home.
