There were reports of a slide off in the Milo area, a gas drive off in a Sheldon area, a theft in the Nevada area, a structure fire in the Walker area, a suspicious vehicle in the El Dorado Springs area, an ambulance request in the Walker area, a dog bite in the Sheldon area, a traffic stop in the Milo area, a missing person in the Nevada area, an alarm in the Nevada area, flooding in the Nevada area, a 911 hang up in the Schell City area, a vehicle vs. deer in the Schell City area, a check well being in the Compton Junction area, and an assault in the Deerfield area.

Melissa M. Anderson, 32, of Walnut, Kan., was arrested and processed by the Vernon County Sheriff's Office on charges of failure to appear on insufficient funds and contempt on a traffic violation. She is being held in lieu of a $1,853 bond.

Jail population: 22
