Ruth P. Barker

Ruth P. Barker, of El Dorado Springs, Mo., passed away on July 24, 2008, at the Community Springs Health Care Facility. She was born on April 12, 1919, in Walker, Mo., the daughter of Vera and Earl Kramer, and later the big sister of Lewis Earl and Ralph Kramer.

She graduated from Harwood High School and later attended Central Missouri State where she earned a certificate to teach school.

She was united in marriage to George Robert Barker, on July 9, 1939, having shared 62 blessed years together. To this union one son, George Brent, was born.

Ruth was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved her life in the church, her family, her many close friends, and El Dorado Springs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, and her brothers Lewis Earl Kramer and Ralph Kramer.

Survivors include: her son, Brent Baker and wife, Barbara, from Allen, Texas; granddaughter, Sara Weber and husband Trent, with great-grandsons Jake and Cooper, of Tampa, Fla.; and grandson Seth Baker and wife Tina, with great-granddaughter, Alexa, from Plano, Texas.

The celebration of her life was held Monday, July 28, at 10 a.m., at Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home, in El Dorado Springs, with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating.

Memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church in her memory.
