Larry Joe "Bub" Clements, 45, Deerfield, Mo.. passed away Sunday, Aug. 31, 2008, unexpectedly at his home. He was born April 10, 1963, in Fort Scott, to Larry Joe Clements Sr. and Diane Elaine Lang Clements. He was married Dec. 17, 2001, in Miami, Okla., to Kenna S. Klumpp and she survives of the home.

Larry was born and raised in Fort Scott, and graduated from Fort Scott High School in 1981. He worked for Topco Cabinet Company, Fort Scott. He had also worked for 10 years for the Coca Cola Distributor of Fort Scott. For the past nine years he has worked for Emery Truck Stop in Deerfield. Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 495 in Richards, Mo., and the BPO Elks Lodge in Fort Scott. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed raising cattle.

In addition to his wife Kenna, survivors include four children, Brooke Clements, Fort Scott, Jacob Clements, Fort Scott, Aubrey Elkinton and her husband Dusty, and David Klumpp and his wife Joni, all of Deerfield; three grandchildren, which he was "Papa" to, Halley Elkinton, Talya Elkinton and Caden Klumpp; his father, "Joe" Clements and stepmother, Darlene, Fort Scott; two sisters, Donna Joe "D.J." Beerbower and her husband David, Fort Scott, and Debbie Mitchell, Fort Scott; five nieces, Sarah Jo Pollock, Jennifer Hull, Katie Jo Hull, ShayLynn Clements and Amanda Clements; one nephew, Jerry Clements, and one great-niece, JoDee Lynn Pollock; father and mother-in-law, Leon and Betty Lou Emery, Deerfield, Mo.; and one bother-in-law, Mike Emery, Richards; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, along with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane Clements, in 1995.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 5, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Interment, along with Masonic services, will follow at Deerfield Cemetery, Deerfield.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening between 6 and 8 p.m.

The family suggests that memorials may be made in his honor to a memorial fund for his grandchildren in care of the funeral home.
