Francis J. "Frank" Davis, 76, Nevada, passed away suddenly on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Nevada Regional Medical Center, Nevada. He was born April 25, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio, to Joseph Gandy Davis and Esther Hayes Davis. He married Patricia Ann Burns on Aug. 26, 1981, in Orange, Texas, and she survives of the home.

Frank grew up in Texas and graduated from high school in Port Arthur, Texas. He immediately went into the United States Air Force and served in both Korea and Vietnam, serving a total of seven years as a pilot. Following the service he worked various jobs including working for the FAA, in Alexandria, La., for several years, worked as a private pilot for Weston Brothers and later for H.J. Wilson Jewelers, retiring in 1989. He also worked for Grady Crawford Construction, Baton Rouge, La. Frank moved to Nevada in June 2006 and has worked the past two years for the Nevada Daily Mail.

Survivors include his wife Patricia, of the home; four children, Vickie Burke, Lori Woodling, and Charles Davis, all of the state of Louisiana and Jeffrey Davis, of the state of Florida; three stepchildren, Vicki C. Keys and her husband Paul, Nevada, Ron Herkender, Kiln, Miss., and Richard Craven and his wife Kristen, Baton Rouge, La.; numerous grandchildren including Dustin Paul Keys and his wife Staci, Nevada, Victoria Anne Keys, Nevada, Richelle A. Craven, and Chase A. Craven, Baton Rouge, La.; two brothers, Robert Davis and Howard Davis, both of the state of Texas; three sisters, June Reeves, Patsy Stubbs, both of the state of Texas, and Sybil Wilson, of the state of Florida, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 10, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in National Cemetery, Fort Scott. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 9, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
