William Roger "Bill" Ramsell

William Roger "Bill" Ramsell, 66, the son of William Howard and Jessie Lee (Mace) Ramsell was born Sept. 30, 1942, in Liberty, Mo., passed from this life on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at Centerpoint Hospital, in Kansas City, Mo. Bill retired from Carter Waters after 27 years of service. During that time he was a member of Laborers No. 663, and Teamsters No. 541. Bill and his wife Pat were married March 1, 1968, in Miami, Okla., and retired to Schell City and in 1998. In his early years Bill was an avid lover of dirt track racing. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved being in the woods hunting for mushrooms. In the past several years he never missed a NASCAR race. He was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: His wife, of 40 years, Patricia Ramsell, of the home in Schell City; two sons Garry Ramsell and family, of Paola, Kan. and William "Billy" Ramsell, of Schell City; one daughter Dena Stoneking and family, of Buckner, Mo..; one sister, Karen Ramsell, of Liberty, Mo.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces nephews, cousins, and other relatives and many friends who will miss him greatly. Aside from his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Ramsell.

Graveside services with interment for William Roger Ramsell, will be held at 11 a.m., today, at the Green Lawn Cemetery, in Schell City, with brother David Souza officiating. Pallbearers are: Ken Davis, Deanna Marlow, Hank Layton, Michael Williams, Rick Marlow, and Daniel Ogle. Honorary pallbearers are: Ed McCannon, Stan Layton, Clarence Conwell, and Sgt. Sean McCannon. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kansas City Cancer Center or the Schell City Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral arrangements for William Roger Ramsell were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home, in Schell City.
