Hayden Junior Long, 47, Nevada, passed away at his home on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008. He was born Feb. 20, 1961, in Tucson, Ariz., to John L. Long and Rosealie M. McNeece Long. He married Michelle Hall on May 21, 1981, and to this marriage three children were born. She survives of Fort Scott, Kan.

Hayden grew up in Vernon County and graduated from Nevada High School in 1979. He was currently employed by Nevada Fuel Mart. He was a member of the Montevallo Masonic Lodge 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite.

Survivors include three children, Matthew Long and his fiancé, Nora Friend, Kristen Long, and Ryan A. Long, all of Fort Scott; two grandsons, Tilk Long and Aiden Long; three brothers, Johnnie Long, Gaumy, Mo., Ronnie Long, Rich Hill, Mo., and Rex Long and his wife Lisa, Nevada; three sisters, Aleca Long, Greenfield, Mo., Lennie Stirewalt and her husband Brad, Diamond, Mo., and Lillian Long, El Dorado Springs; numerous nieces and nephews and friend, Talenna Basham, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Pensboro Cemetery, south of Greenfield, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service. A Masonic Service will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 8, at the funeral home followed by a visitation and at 7:45 p.m., a Scottish Rite service.
