Joseph Louis Leo, 52, of Milo, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2009, at Freeman Health System West, Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness. He was born Aug. 14, 1956, in Oyster Bay, N.Y., to Joseph Carmen Leo and Anna Marie Miranda Leo. He married Neeta Fern Hardgrave on Oct. 5, 1974, in Aurora, Mo., and she survives of the home.

Joseph was born and reared in Oyster Bay, N.Y. He moved to Marionville, as a youth. He has made his home in Vernon County the past 16 years. He made his living in construction. Joseph was a member of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Nevada. He was very proud of his Italian Heritage and was an avid cook.

In addition to his wife Neeta, he is survived by three sons, Joseph Leo, Milo, Roger Leo, and Tony Leo, both of Nevada; two daughters, Neeta Ann Irwin and Victoria Leo, both of Milo; eight grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Leo, state of New York, Maryann Leo, Branson, Mo., and Cathy Belew, Springfield, Mo., and one brother, Christopher Leo, Galena, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 7, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Father Ted Estes officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to a fund for the family in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada.
