Margaret Jean (Tracy) Termer

Margaret Jean (Tracy) Termer passed away peacefully on Friday June 5, 2009 at a care center in Boise, Idaho, two days before her 84th birthday. She was born to Darwin Frederick and Fern Denton Tracy on June 7, 1925 in Sedalia, Mo.

Margaret grew up in Nevada, where she graduated from Nevada High School and Cottey College. She graduated from Pittsburg State Teacher's College. She majored in music with a minor in English.

She married Garland Eugene "Joe" Pinner in 1945. They had a son, John Tracy, and a daughter, Anne Cecilia. Margaret taught music and English and her husband taught mathematics and was a football and track coach. They taught and lived in the communities of Nevada, Weston and Springfield, Missouri. Joe Pinner died in 1957.

In 1959 she married Bartley J. Readey. They were later divorced. She moved to Caney, Kan., where she taught Music and English at Caney High School. Margaret loved teaching and her students were very important to her. She was a talented musician and teacher. She inspired her students and encouraged them to develop their talents in music and to appreciate literature.

Margaret married Leo Termer on June 7, 1968 and moved to Pueblo, Colo. She taught in the Pueblo schools. When Leo retired from the Union Pacific Railroad, she also retired. They spent time traveling, taking their dog, Blue, with them. She became the Regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution, in Pueblo. Leo died in 1980.

Margaret returned to Nevada after Leo Termer's death to care for her mother. She taught in Schell City and Metz, Missouri during that time. She fell and suffered a brain injury in 1999 and was moved to Boise, Idaho to be close to family members there.

She was a member of the P.E.O., DAR, and Past Regents Society of the DAR.

Margaret is survived by her brother, John Robert Tracy and his wife Wicki, of Boise; her son, John Pinner and his wife Robin, of Stockholm, N.J.; her daughter, Anne Brown and her husband Nyle, of Boise; granddaughters, Denise Walker and her husband Greg, of Boise, and Kara Hay and her husband Walter, of Wichita, Kan; great-grandchildren, Denise's children, Chelsey Hill, Stephanie and Ashley Walker, and Kara's children, Spencer and Tessa Hay. Margaret will be missed very much by her dog, Laddie, who lives with Anne and Nyle.

The family deeply appreciates the caring staff at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley and Legacy Hospice. They helped Margaret maintain comfort and dignity during her time in Boise.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., on Wednesday, June 24, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 330 N. Main St., Nevada, with the Rev. John Bolderson officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Nevada.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home of Nevada. A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 11, at Life Care Center of Treasure Valley in Boise, Idaho.
