Herbert Raymond Dighero

Herbert Raymond Dighero, 80, Nevada, passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at Barone Alzheimer's Care Center in Nevada following a lengthy illness. He was born Oct. 15, 1928, in Barton County, Mo., to John Dominic Dighero and Mabel Clair Spurling Dighero. He married Lorna Riley on Oct. 27, 1949, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Herbert was born and reared in Barton County. He worked for Joseph Pohl Construction for a number of years, but primarily made his living as a rancher and farmer. He was a cowboy at heart and loved his horses and livestock. Herbert was an avid coon hunter. He loved his family very much. He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors in addition to his wife Lorna include five sons, Ronald Dighero, Nevada, Donald Dighero and his wife Sue, Nevada, Terry Dighero and his wife Diane, Nevada, Herbert Dighero and his wife Dee Ann, Aurora, Mo., and Larry Dighero and his wife Tamela, Jasper, Mo.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Loyd Dighero, Wichita, Kan., and George Dighero, Lamar, Mo. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Connie Jo and Debbie Sue, his parents, and one granddaughter, Carrie Beth.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Robert Sisseck officiating. Interment will follow in Bluff Cemetery, in Barton County, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 6-7 p.m., Thursday, July 30, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to a fund for the family or Barone Alzheimer's Care Center, Nevada.
