Eunice Pearl Scotten, 97, Nevada, passed away on Monday, Aug. 17, 2009, at Moore-Few Care Center in Nevada following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Louisburg, Mo., to Jesse Hartline and Stella Dorman Hartline. She married James Scotten on June 26, 1932, in Walker, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Pearl was born in Louisburg, Mo., and moved to Walker at a young age. She graduated from Nevada High School. Pearl worked for many years as a factory supervisor for Midwest Embroidery in Kansas City, Mo., retiring in 1962. She returned to Vernon County after retirement and spent the rest of her life here. She was a member of the Cold Creek Club. Pearl was also a member of the Nevada Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include one son, Bill Scotten and his wife Phyllis, Walker, Mo.; two grandchildren, Sharon Wilson, Baxter Springs, Kan., and Billy Scotten II, Nevada; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and one twin sister, Murle Berry, Nevada.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Aug. 22, at Nevada Assembly of God Church, Nevada, with the Rev. Paul Leasor officiating. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery, Ketterman, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends from 6-7 p.m. on Friday evening at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
