Dora Muriel Wendt, 77, Springfield, Mo., formerly of Nevada, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Maranatha Village in Springfield, following a lengthy illness. She was born Jan. 10, 1932, in Nevada, to Hoyth Emmett Money and Muriel Edith Moore Money. She was married Nov. 7, 1969, in Miami, Okla., to Melvin Wendt and he preceded her in death June 9, 2000.

Mrs. Wendt was born and raised in Nevada, and graduated from Nevada High School. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, past-president of the Eagle's Lodge Women's Auxiliary in Nevada, and the Royal Neighbors of America. She lived in Kansas City, Mo., for a number of years and Kingman, Kan., for 20 years or more. She and her husband retired to Nevada in 1988 and for the last several years she resided in Springfield.

Survivors include four daughters, Connie Schooley, Springfield, Linda McKee, Sedalia, Mo., Vicky Brown and her husband Jeff, Monett, Mo., and Lisa Kettner and her husband Gary, Monett, Mo.; 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; one sister-in-law, Hazel Gibbs, Springfield. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, James Bever, Donny Bever, and Dale Bever, and one brother George Money.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Sept. 4, at Moore Cemetery in Nevada.
