Mary Jane Mathews

Mary Jane Mathews, a resident for 94 years of St. Louis, Mo., and, for the past three years and seven months, a resident of Culpepper Place, Nevada, passed in her sleep Friday morning, Oct. 16, 2009. She was born on Oct. 30, 1911.

Miss Mathews was employed for 53 years as a secretary and office clerk for North American Electric Lamp Company, St. Louis. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, St. Louis and was ministered to in Nevada by All Saints Episcopal Church. She was a long time member and former board member of the St. Louis Hearing and Speech Center. Her volunteer activities included the American Red Cross and Meals on Wheels.

Miss Mathews is survived by her nephew, Gary Hollenberg and his wife Angela; three great-nieces, Amy Hollenberg, Lindsay Hollenberg, and Auna Jones; plus other nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; five brothers; and four sisters.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
