Donald Lee Nunez, 67, Nevada, died Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. He was born Dec. 27, 1942 in Nevada, to Frank Nunez and Mary Ellen Little Nunez. He was married July 31, 1971 in Kansas City, Mo., to Peggy A. Justus, and she survives of the home.

Donald was born in Nevada and grew up in the Bronaugh and Milo area. He graduated from Bronaugh High School in 1961, where he was proud of his playing days with the Bronaugh High School basketball team. He served in the U.S. Army for 9 years including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He worked for 15 years as a cook at the Nevada State Hospital. He had lived several years in Osage Beach, Mo., before returning to Nevada in 2006.

In addition to his wife Peggy, survivors include five children, Ronald Justus, Belton, Mo., Robert Seay, the state of California, Virgil Seay, the state of Oklahoma, Paul Nunez, Osage Beach, Mo., and Connie Nunez, Nevada; eight grandchildren; six sisters, Angie Geary, Nevada, Marguerite Bolser, Hermitage, Mo., Mary Gillispie, Independence, Mo., Norma Dayringer, Martha Tipling, and Teresa Huss, all of Nevada; two brothers, Jim Nunez and Paul Nunez, both of Kansas City, Mo.; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Francis Nunez and Robert Nunez.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
