Charles Edward Miller, 80, Milo, Mo., passed away at his home on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was born June 3, 1929, in Verona, Mo., to Richard R. Miller and Dorothy B. Gripka Miller. He married Lou Ellen Wilson on Nov. 24, 1962, in Rolla, Mo., and she preceded him in death in 2003.

Charles grew up in Aurora and graduated from high school there. He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Mines in Rolla, with a degree in engineering. Charles worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for 33 years until he retired. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War for two years. He has lived in Nevada since 1970.

Survivors include three sons, Charles L. Miller and his wife Lisa, Milo, Richard A. Miller and his wife Wanda, Kansas City, Mo., and Joseph B. Miller, Milo, Mo.; one daughter, Theresa A. Littrel, Nevada; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and one infant son, Kenneth.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nevada with Father Justin Hoye officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Nevada. Rosary service will be held Sunday, Feb. 14, at 6:30 p.m., with visitation following from 7-8 p.m., at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
