Ruth M. Nelson, 105, of Neodesha, Kan., formerly of Nevada, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2010, at the Golden Living Center, in Neodesha, Kan. She was born on April 21, 1904, in Pleasant Gap, in Bates County, Mo., to Milton E. Fox and Lydia M. Bollweg Fox. She married Harry L. Nelson on March 5, 1925, in Richards, Mo., and he preceded her in death in 1976.

Ruth grew up and attended school in Bates County. Following her marriage she and her husband lived in Richards for a number of years. When World War II began, she and her husband moved to Kansas City. She worked at F.W. Woolworth as a clerk for 20 years. Following retirement they moved to Rockville, Mo. She later moved to Nevada where she lived until 2001, when she moved to Neodesha, Kan. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Nevada.

Survivors include: two daughters, Eleanore June Wynn, of Wisconsin, and Esther R. Vandiver, Neodesha, Kan.; 19 grandchildren, and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by: two sons, Lester Nelson Jr., and Marvin L. Nelson; one daughter, Joy Scott; one grandson, Cory Wynn; and four bothers, Edwin Fox, Glen Fox, Henry Fox and Milton Fox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, March 26, at Ferry Funeral Home, with pastor Mike Satterlee officiating. Interment will follow in Park Lawn Cemetery, in Kansas City, Mo. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
