Earl Eugene Dennis

Earl Eugene Dennis, 87, of Walker, died on Friday, April 9, 2010, at Christian Health Care of Nevada. Earl was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Nevada to James Allen and Emma (Current) Dennis. On Feb. 12, 1943, he was married in Seattle, Wash., to Maurine F. Dally and she preceded him in death on Feb. 5, 2004.

Earl graduated from Nevada High School and worked for the Mossberg Gun Co. for 25 years as a traveling sales representative. He also farmed and raised cattle. Earl loved to hunt, fish, and play golf and was a longtime member of the Nevada Country Club.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Brandon Dennis, Liberty, Mo., Amy Dennis, Raymore, Mo., and Dawn White, Walker; one great-grandson, Russell Zilliox; and a son in-law, Jack Wallace, Walker. In addition to his wife, Maurine, he was preceded in death by his son, Luther Lee Dennis; his daughter, Carolyn Wallace; three brothers, Luther Dennis, Russell Dennis, and Alan Dennis; and three sisters, Clara Maude Bishop, Eva Rutherford, and Eulala Patterson.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, at the Antioch Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call from now until 10 a.m., on Tuesday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
