Tarrant resigns from 911 board

The Western Missouri 911 Dispatch Board accepted the resignation of Executive Director April Tarrant during a special meeting held Friday, April 7, at the Vernon County Sheriff's Office. Tarrant will remain in her current position until May 28.

According to a press release from the board, Tarrant has accepted the position of executive director with the Jasper County Emergency Services Board, where she will be closer to her family.

The members of the Western Missouri 9-1-1 Dispatch Board and staff expressed appreciation to Tarrant "for her dedication and commitment to the center, the citizens, and the public safety agencies of Nevada and Vernon County." the release said.

The Western Missouri 9-1-1 Dispatch Board began accepting resumes from qualified candidates on Monday, May 10, and will continue to take applicants' resumes until Friday, May 14, at 1 p.m. Candidates interested in this position may inquire with Chairman Chris Mason at the Western Missouri 9-1-1 Dispatch Center, 2040 E.
