Grace J. Huppe

Grace J. Huppe, 92, Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at her home in Nevada, following a short illness. She was born March 1, 1918, in Grover, Colo., to Steve and Lottie J. McCoy. She married Frank Burk in 1940 in Kimball, Neb., and he preceded her in death in 1954. To this union a daughter, Patsy Marie, was born. She was united in marriage to Walter C. "Bud" Huppe on July 13, 1956, in Carr, Colo., who preceded her in death in May 2005. To this union, a son, Michael, was born.

Grace spent the early part of her life in and around northern Colorado and southern Wyoming. She and her family came to Missouri in 1971. She was self-employed with her husband Walter, operating Huppe Janitor Service until 2004. She was also employed by Cottey College and Nevada State School and hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Pat Brigman and her husband, Mike, Nevada; one son, Mike Huppe, Nevada; five grandchildren, Debbie Jones, Elaine Wild, Terry Messer, Joshua Huppe, and Alexandria Huppe; three great-grandchildren, Kayla Messer, Evan Wild and Alanna Wild; two great-great grandchildren, Liberty Kirkendoll and Max Kirkendoll; one niece, Marie Snider; one great-nephew, Michael Snider; and her special caregiver, Linda Gilley.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 2, at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with the Rev. Johannes Braun officiating. Friends may call now and until 9 a.m. on Saturday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.

The family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
