Robert Lee Woodfill

Robert Lee Woodfill, 82, Prosper, Texas, formerly of Nevada, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, following a lengthy illness. Bob was born in Nevada, Mo., on Jan. 11, 1928, to Linden (Shorty) and Hazel Woodfill. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1946. A year later, he entered the United States Army, served in the Philippines and was honorably discharged in 1948.

On Oct. 24, 1953, he wed Marrilee (Pat) Sivils Woodfill. They were married for 56 years. Bob began work at Farm and Home Savings Association in 1950, where he later became the manager of the loan service department. He remained with Farm and Home until 1990.

Bob is survived by his four daughters and their spouses, Lee Ann and Myles Mitchell, Mary Pat and Scott Rosenthal, Susan Siracusa, and Mindy and Jay Chism; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, and his mother and father.

The family will receive friends at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, Sunday, Oct. 24, from 6:30-8 p.m. A private graveside service for the family will be held on Monday, Oct. 25, at 10 a.m., at Newton Burial Park, Nevada, with Matt Proctor officiating.
