Kathryn Mae Fast

Kathryn Mae Fast, 91, Nevada, passed away on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at her home in Nevada. She was born Aug. 4, 1919, in Frankfurt, Ind., to W.S. John Ramsey and Bertha May Hastings. She married Paul Fast in 1946, in Wichita, Kan., and he preceded her in death in 1996. They had been married for more than 50 years.

Kathryn graduated from Nevada High School in 1938. She enjoyed meeting with members of her graduating class monthly. She and her husband had lived in Kansas City, Mo., for 25 years where she had worked for the Fashion Built Coat Factory for more than 20 years. They came to Nevada in 1977 following retirement.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Garbisch and her husband, Robert, American Canyon, Calif.; two sisters, Ethel Braun, Independence, Mo., and Sue Harbour, Grand Prairie, Texas; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 10, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa, Kan. Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
