Thomas P. Todd passed away peacefully on March 15, 2011, one week before his 76th birthday in his Fort Lauderdale, Fla., home after suffering from throat cancer.

Tom was born in Kansas City, Mo., to David A. Todd and Inez Porta Todd. He is survived by his loving brother and sister-in-law, David and Yvon Todd of Lawton, Okla.; their three children and families, Beth, Gus and Katherine Cooke of Boulder, Colo., Dave, Caroline, David and Suzanne Todd of Fulton, Mo., and Judith and Willy Dunkelberger of St. Louis, Mo., and their son Richard Dunkelberger who resides in Syracuse, N.Y.

Tom graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Upon graduation, Tom served a tour of duty in the United States Army in Tokyo, Japan, from 1957-'58. After the service, Tom worked for American Presidential Lines which supplies global container transportation, the United States Department of State, and then had a long successful career with American Express as the Director of Marketing and Worldwide Product Development. At the time of his death, he was Trustee for the Campbell Foundation in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Tom's quick wit, warm friendship and generosity will be greatly missed by the many who knew him. We have lost a great friend. Tom loved to travel, loved having a good time, was fun to be with and will truly be missed by his family and friends from around the world.

Through the years Tom lived in Dallas, New Orleans, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. He enjoyed a daily swim in his heated pool of 82 degrees, skiing, fine dining and was an avid reader.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers Tom, his family, and friends would appreciate donations to The Poverello Center, 2292 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors, FL 33305.
