Anna Maye Cole, 81, Nevada, passed away on Monday, April 4, 2011, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. She was born April 22, 1929, in Verse, Wyo., to Fred A. Martin and Nina Anna Faulkner Martin. She married Lawrence D. Cole on Dec. 12, 1946, in Pittsburg, Kan., and he survives of the home.

Anna was born and spent the first 13 years of her life in Wyoming. She moved to this area and attended Rich Hill High School. Following her marriage, she worked in a variety of pursuits including cafeteria management in Sun Valley, Calif., and also served as city clerk of Sheldon, Mo., for 14 years. She was a member of the Nevada Pentecostal Assembly of God Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Linda Nylin, Washington state; three grandchildren, David Marez, Fort Scott, Kan., Debra York, Grove, Okla., and Jeanne Terry, of Washington state; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Freddie Martin, Washington, Iowa, Raymond Martin, Washington, Iowa, and Ed Holland, Nevada; two sisters, Ora "Babe" Knerr and Faye Scott, Washington, Iowa. She was preceded in death by one brother, Marion Martin, and one sister, Nova Higgins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Revs. Shelby Brandt and Dennis Engelbrecht officiating. Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery, Horton, Mo. The family receives friends from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home prior to the service. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
