Cody Alexander Jenkins

Cody Alexander Jenkins, 20, Moundville, Mo., passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born July 11, 1990, in Fort Scott, Kan., to Russell Dean Jenkins and Pamela A. Connelly Jenkins.

Cody was raised in this area and spent all his life here in Vernon County. He graduated from Nevada High School in 2009 and was currently taking classes at Crowder College, and was employed at the Sears store here. He loved his motorcycle and his pickup truck, and liked to go "mudding." He had a large group of friends, and loved his family very much.

Survivors include his parents, Russell Jenkins, Moundville, Mo., and Pam Jenkins, Bronaugh, Mo.; one brother, Jesse Jenkins, Moundville, Mo.; one half-brother, Tucker Connelly, Bronaugh, Mo.; maternal grandparents, Jurl and Sandra Connelly, Nevada, Mo.; paternal grandfather Garry Jenkins and his wife, Ada, Richards, Mo.; one paternal great-grandparent, Virginia Jenkins, Nevada, Mo. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Jim Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery in Nevada.

Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, April 15, between 6:30 and 8 p.m.
