Mary Elizabeth Bruegger

Mary Elizabeth Bruegger, 87, died Sunday, May 29, 2011, at Olathe. She was born Feb. 28, 1924, at Whiting, Ind., the daughter of Lester and Viola Beck Chansler.

A longtime Hutchinson resident moving to the Kansas City area in 2010, she had worked for Beech Aircraft and was quality controller operator for Consolidate Rebuilders, retiring in 1986. Mary was lifetime member of Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 420, Holyrood. Her initiation was June 25, 1946. Her hobbies included quilting, knitting, crafts, reading and playing bridge.

On Sept. 10, 1951, she married Virgil W. Bruegger at Colorado Springs. He survives. Other survivors and their spouses include a daughter, Virginia Anderson, Kansas City; three sons, Randy and Carol, Olathe, Kan., Steven and Lee, Overland Park, Kan., Paul and Brigette, Seattle, Wash.; one brother, Paul and Sharon Chansler, Hutchinson, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Wes Anderson; and a sister, Bernice Bundy.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Thursday, June 2, at Elliott Chapel, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kan. Order of Eastern Star Service was conducted by Silver Leaf Chapter No. 464, Hutchinson. Burial was in Bushton Cemetery.
