Nettie M. Christeson, 90, a resident of Englevale, Kan., died Thursday, July 7, 2011, at her home. She was born Nov. 19, 1920, in Newkirk, Okla. She married George Christeson on May 24, 1947, at Independence, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Christeson had made their home in Ottawa, Kan., prior to moving to Englevale. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. While in Ottawa, she had served as a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her husband, George, of the home; a son, Donald Christeson, Liberty, Kan.; two daughters, Esther Dee Christeson, of Virginia, and Vicky Rood, Kansas City, Mo. Also surviving is a brother, Pete Maley, Emporia, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Leonard Wayne Christeson, who was killed in Vietnam and George Alan Christeson; a daughter, Peggy Sprague; a sister, Hazel; a brother, Tim; and three grandchildren.

There was a cremation. The Rev. Paul Rooks will conduct a memorial service at 10 a.m., Monday, July 11, at the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. Burial will follow in the U.S. National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Grace Baptist Tabernacle and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, 201 S. Main, P.O. Box 347, Ft. Scott, KS 66701.
