Tammy Jo Johnson, 49, Nevada, passed away Sept. 18, 2011, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada, following a brief illness. She was born May 7, 1962, in Kansas City, Mo., to Bobby Gene Johnson Sr. and Barbara Jean Phillips Johnson.

Tammy was born in Kansas City, Mo., but spent most of her youth in Bronaugh, Mo. She made her living primarily as a waitress, but also worked for a number of years at the State Capitol in Jefferson City, Mo.

Survivors include one daughter, Courtney, Liberal, Mo.; one son, Gregory, of the home; her mother, Barbara Johnson, Lamar, Mo.; two brothers, George Johnson, Nevada, and Bobby Johnson, Buena Vista, Colo.; three sisters, Debbie Stockman, Canton, Ill., Trudy Crews, Nevada, and Kimberly Haire, Cahokia, Ill.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, at Moore Cemetery in Nevada with the Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating. The family will receive friends at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada on Wednesday, Sept. 21, between 6 and 7 p.m.

Friends may call now and until 10 a.m., Thursday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
