Patricia J. Crawford, 68, Nevada, passed away on Friday, Sept. 23, 2011, at Moore-Few Care Center, in Nevada, following an illness of several months. She was born April 12, 1943, in Brazil, Ind., to Norl E. "Tommy" Thompson and Eva Ellen Price Thompson.

While in the eighth grade, Patty moved with her family to Nevada. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1961, and remained a lifelong resident of Nevada. She married Raymond R. Crawford on March 28, 1964, in the First Baptist Church of Nevada, a marriage that lasted more than 47 years.

During high school, Patty worked at the candy counter for her dad at the Scott's Five & Dime Store on the Nevada Square before her first real job at First Finance Company. Her career took her to Nevada TV Cable for 16 years and most recently Missouri Eagle where she was office manager for more than 26 years. Patty was a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of Chapter ND of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and an active booster of Nevada High School sports teams, especially Lady Tiger Basketball.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond, of the home; three sisters, Janean Garrett, Joplin, Mo., Norlene Hillier and her husband, Don, Nevada, Janell Dimond and her husband, Mike, Fayette, Mo.; and one brother, Dale Thompson, Alba, Mo. Patty was very proud of her five nieces, Amber, Heather, Erin, Kelly and Mikela, and her three nephews, Brenton, Scott and Jacob.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, at the First Baptist Church in Nevada, with Dr. William Cox and the Rev. Hubert Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, where the family will receive friends from 6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday.
