Julia Ann Ford, 72, Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at her home in Sheldon, following a sudden illness. She was born May 2, 1939, in Portland, Ore., to Emory Bryon Cook and Helen Nina Amweg Cook. She married Cletus G. Ford on Sept. 28, 1966, in Miami, Okla. He preceded her in death on June 11, 2001.

Julia was born in Portland, Ore., but was raised in Oklahoma. She came to Missouri in 1969 and has resided here since. She worked for a number of years in customer service. Julia liked to garden and work in her yard. She also was very fond of her dog Bobo. She was a Catholic.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Ford, Sheldon, and Darvin Ford, Nevada; two daughters, Tammy Larimore, Nevada, and Kathy Melloh, Sterling, Colo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Emery Cook, Lawrence, Kan., and Tommy Cook of Oklahoma; and one sister, Alma Royster, Carthage, Mo.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
