Everett was married to Marie Louise Stock (Miles) of Fergus Fall, Minn., on June 6, 1946, in Paris, France, and she preceded him in death in 1980. He then married Bertha Lower Roberts, Nov. 30, 1985, at the Whiteman Air Force Base Chapel and she survives of the home.

Everett was born in Milo, Mo., and spent most of his younger years attending school at Frazier and Cloverdale, with high school in Montevallo, Mo. One of his favorite sayings was "The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit." He was an avid golfer with seven holes in one and shared his passions with anyone who asked, serving as mentor to those learning to play the sport.

Everett is survived by his wife, Bertha; two stepsons, Jesse A. Roberts M.D. and his life partner, Mark Giersch, and Hardy Roberts, all of Kansas City, Mo. Other relatives include many nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law, Dolly and Fran, all of whom were very special to him.

Everett was one of 10 sons born to his mother and father, of which there are no survivors. Preceding him in death were six brothers who reached adulthood, Basil, Gordon, Clifford, Russell, Glen and Cecil.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 9, at the First Baptist Church in Nevada with the Rev. Hubert Fox officiating.
