Margie Ellen Breneman, 86, of Apex, N.C., passed away peacefully on Dec. 22, 2011. She was born to Thomas and Velma (Steele) Longabaugh in Metz, Mo., on Sept. 19, 1925.

Throughout her life, Margie has always been a woman of great faith. She expressed her faith through membership in the United Methodist Church and association with the United Methodist Women's Circle. Margie exemplified her faith through her many volunteer efforts. Some of which included service with battered women's shelters, volunteering with the American Red Cross, and the Western Wake Crisis Ministry. Margie was not just a woman of great faith, but a true unspoken hero to those who she so attentively served.

Margie is survived by her husband, William S. Breneman, of Apex, N.C.; son, Keith Breneman and his wife, Carol, of Apex, N.C.; grandchildren, Sherman Breneman of Kansas City, Kan., Cynthni Howard and her husband, Chris, of Apex, N.C., Aaron Breneman and his wife, Liz, of Alberta, Canada, Matthew Breneman and his wife, Mary, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., Andrew Breneman and his wife, Stacie, of Apex, N.C., Geni Riddle and her husband, Matthew, of Apex, N.C., and Nondi Boggs and her husband, Matthew, of Fairless Hills, Pa.; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Family will receive visitors at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex, NC from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 26.

Funeral services will be held in the Apex Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., and burial will immediately follow at Wake Memorial Park.
