Betty Ann Hickam, 69, Lamar, Mo., formerly of Nevada, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at Barton County Memorial Hospital in Lamar, following an illness of several weeks. She was born March 22, 1942, in Pattonsburg, Mo., to George Phillips and Dorothy Raw Phillips. She was married Nov. 17, 1967, in Miami, Okla., to George "Andy" Hickam and he preceded her in death June 27, 2008.

Mrs. Hickam lived and worked in Nevada for a number of years, but spent the past 20 years in Lamar, Mo. She was an avid dog lover and was greatly appreciated by her neighbors. She was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lamar.

Survivors include two sons, David Bailey and Jimmy Bailey; two daughters, Kaye Turner and Faye Epley; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four sisters, Barbara Jean Falls, Lamar, Mo., Mildred Irene Sanderson, Los Angeles, Calif., Katherine Abshier, Waverly, Mo., and Patty Staples, Frontenac, Kan.; four brothers, George Phillips, Sheldon, Mo., Delbert Phillips, Nevada, Donald Phillips, Lamar, Mo., and Ronald Phillips, Columbia, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Karen Sue (Dallas) Phillips.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Newton Burial Park in Nevada with the Rev. Jack Slade officiating.

Friends may call now and until 1 p.m., Tuesday, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada.
