George Edward Harkrader

George Edward Harkrader, 87, of Pappinsville, Mo., died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Willow Lane Nursing Home. He was born Jan. 27, 1925, to George and Sophia Harkrader in Pleasant Gap, Mo.

Edward is survived by his wife, Lorna Mae Harkrader of Rockville, Mo.; two sons, Dean Edward Harkrader and wife, Shelli, of Nevada, and Jerry Alan Harkrader and wife, Bobbie, of Butler, Mo.; five daughters, Wilma Griffith and husband, Philip, of St. Louis, Mo., Mary Noyes and husband, Shane, of Vancouver, Wash., Janet Nitchals and husband, Alton, of Butler, Mo., Vickie Fischer of Newark, Del., and Lisa Harkrader of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Ruby Schenker and husband, Norvin, of Rockville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Devon Megan (Jeremy), Jacob, Julia, Tammy (John), Hannah, Amie (Steve), Rebecca (David), Brent and Lauren (Sal); seven great-grandchildren, Isabel, Samuel, Jared, Kyle, Tracey, Tom and Tim; and five great-great-grandchildren, Lane, Brendan, Kacey, Shyanne and Hannah. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brothers, Floyd and Lloyd.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., today, at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Mo., with the Rev. Barrett Case officiating. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, April 13, Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Prairie City, Mo., with the Rev. Michael Manz presiding.
