James H. Pyeatte

James H. Pyeatte died May 1, 2012, in Parker, Colo., due to complications from throat cancer. He graduated valedictorian from Sheldon High School in 1967, attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Mo., and graduated with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve. After leaving the service, he worked in various companies in the oil pipeline industry including Texaco Pipeline. During his life, James was involved in the Boy Scouts obtaining the Eagle Scout rank and the Silver Beaver award. This love of Boy Scouts extended to his sons who both are Eagle Scouts.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents H.T. and Connie Pyeatte of Sheldon. He is survived by his sister, Cythia Lucas of Sheldon, Mo.; his wife, Sharron Pyeatte of Parker, Colo.; two sons, James Wesley and Danny; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Aug. 18, at the First United Methodist Church in Sheldon, Mo., from 1 to 3 p.m.
