Ernest Eugene Board

Ernest Eugene Board, 88, of Nevada, died Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan. He was born Nov. 23, 1923, to Ervin Parker and Alpha Dale Briscoe Board in Bates County, Mo.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanne Board of Nevada; one son, Brian Board and wife, Sharon, of Nevada; two grandsons, Parker Board and fiancé, Carli Honea, and Tucker Board; one brother, Glen Board of Butler, Mo.; and special niece, Mary Clark and husband, John, and their children, Donald Clark, Heather Blanchard and husband, Nathan, and Laura Duncan and husband, Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler, Mo., with the Rev. Bill Platt officiating and the Rev. Dave Rorabaugh assisting. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Wednesday, at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Foster. Contributions may be made to the Nevada First Christian Church or Salvation Army.
