Letter to the Editor

It's been a good 33 years

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Dear Editor:

I want to use this medium to express my thanks to the many friends and acquaintances we have in our region. After serving for more than 33 years as lead pastor at First Baptist Church, Nevada, I have become acquainted with many persons.

My wife, Marie, and I have had the privilege of rearing all four of our children in Nevada. We have always appreciated the teachers in our public school system. As a participant in the Vernon County Ministerial Alliance, I have had the opportunity to know and befriend pastors from every church in the county. While serving in various capacities, I have enjoyed meeting many people in our community.

As of Oct. 1, I will be assuming new responsibilities as a chaplain at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. I want to take this occasion to appreciate the church family and community which we have been privileged to call home.

Pastor Bill Cox
