Jacob Earl Dunn, 33, Manteno, Ill., formerly Sheldon, Mo., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at his home in Manteno, Ill., following a sudden illness. He was born Feb. 3, 1979, in Carthage, Mo., to Stanford Earl Dunn and Debrah Ann Carr Dunn.

Jacob was born in Carthage, Mo. He was raised in Sheldon, attended school there, and graduated from Sheldon High School in 1998. Jacob was a carpenter by trade, working at several businesses in Nevada. Shortly after high school, he moved to Illinois and worked at a lumber yard and upper management for a subcontracting company. He enjoyed spending time with his son, fishing, bike riding, sports, and cookouts just to name a few. He also enjoyed being with his family and friends.

Survivors include his father, Stan Dunn and his wife, Sharon, Langhorne, Pa.; his son, Trenton Dunn, Manteno, Ill.; two sisters, Jessica Servey and her husband, Matthew, Columbia, Mo., and Jennifer Laning and her husband, Daniel, Sheldon, Mo.; paternal grandmother, Wanda Turner, Sheldon, Mo.; maternal grandfather, Donald Carr and his wife, Phyllis, Sarcoxie, Mo.; maternal grandmother, Evelyn Boswell and her husband, Jack, Joplin, Mo.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debrah Dunn; and paternal grandfather, Amos Turner.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be given to the family for Jacob's son, Trenton, in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
