Comets earn All-Region honors

NEVADA -- Following the Region XVI postseason volleyball tournament, the Cottey College Comets learned that three of their players were named to All-Region teams. Sophomores Kymee Bair and Alexis Self were both named to the first team, while sophomore Kristina Coverdell was named to the second team.

"These players have been key contributors for us the last two years," Comets head coach Marla Kannady Foreman said. I'm so pleased to see their hard work recognized and honored by the other coaches in our region."

In the tournament, the Comets defeated St. Louis Community College in three sets by the final scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-16. The Comets were eliminated in the semifinals by top-ranked East Central College in a 25-17, 25-20, 25-20 defeat.

The Comets finished the 2012 volleyball season with an overall record of 10-11.
