El Dorado Springs parade winners announced

The El Dorado Springs Christmas parade was held on Saturday, Dec. 8, with many participants from throughout the area.

Jackson Tough, El Dorado Springs Chamber of Commerce director, said in an e-mail it's the largest crowd he's seen in a few years for the holiday event, although there was "just a nip in the air."

Parade winners were as follows:

Civic: First place, Nine Wonders Optimist Club; second place, El Dorado Springs Optimist Club; and third place, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4279.

Church: First place, Bethel Free Will Baptist; second place, First Baptist Church; and third place, Union Hall Baptist Church

Business: First place, and Grand Prize winner, McDonald's restaurant; second place, Brower Real Estate; and third place, KB Evans Pharmacy

Youth: First place, Lighthouse Children's Theater; second place, Girl Scouts of America; and third place, El Dorado Springs Choir / Lights of Galilee.
