BRONAUGH -- Bronaugh's boys opened on fire and although visiting Northeast Vernon County put together solid points in each of the first two quarters, it wasn't enough to keep pace with the Wildcats' offensive onslaught.

The result was a 96-50 explosion by the host Wildcats, who celebrated their Homecoming Friday night.

Bronaugh opened with a torrid first 8 minutes, firing in 33 points, getting 16 alone from Blake Hudson.

The pace didn't slow down in the second as the Wildcats drilled in 35 more, this time with Patrick Hallam taking over the scoring, with 19 points in the frame.

The Knights collected 18 in the first quarter and 15 more in the second, but trailed, 33-18 and 68-33.

The hosts added 21 more in the third period, while NEVC managed 11 and the gap grew to 89-44.

Hallam made sure his senior Homecoming was a standout one, marking his selection to the court with a team- and game-high 31 points. Fellow senior Blake Hudson contributed 22. Thomas Kerbs added 13, Chance Wait 11, Parker Norman seven, Jacob Hendrix six, senior Josh Willis five, and Bryce Whitworth one.

Taylor Highfill led the Knights with 12 points, while Joel Baer added 11, Drue Hoagland 10, senior Jacob Maus nine, Mitchell Longstreth four, senior Dallas Bugg two and Tyrein Davis and Jacob Hazel one.
