Nothing beats the heat better than homemade ice cream! Kerry Koehn and family gathered up their gear and set up an ice cream stand Friday on the west end of the Tim's Convience Store parking lot on North Osage in Nevada. "We are mostly doing this as a hobby, but figured we would make a little extra money a well. It is a family effort," Koehn said. Kent Casey of the Joplin satellite office of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, many roads and highways in southwest Missouri have been closed due to high waters at various times yesterday and today, as heavy rains continued to inundate the area.
