Community Outreach in Nevada has announced the next visit of the Ozarks Food Harvest Mobile Food Pantry is set for Thursday, June 5. The Ozarks Harvest Mobile Food Pantry is a tractor-trailer truck provided by the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Southwest Missouri, The truck will bring a load of 8,000 to 10,000 pounds of food and supplies every other month to the Missouri National Guard Armory at 1400 West Cherry in Nevada. ...

Aquatic weed treatment to take place at Radio Springs Park in June

The Missouri Department of Conservation will be chemically spot treating Eurasian Water Milfoil and other aquatic plants in an effort to control the abundant growth of the plants, beginning in the first week of June. For more than 100 years one name has been associated with the Steward farm south of Montevallo -- Walter. It all started with Walter Steward in 1903. The farm had belonged to his wife's family and he purchased it from them. In 1941, his son Walter Levere Steward purchased the farm and owned it until he passed away at the end of 1956. Walter Joe, the current owner, came home from college to help his mother run the farm and did not leave with the exception of his military service from 1961-'63... -
